Clint Bowyer continues to dodge Richmond spin questions

Reporters repeatedly tried to question Bowyer about his suspcicious spin, but he kept referring back to vague answers he gave Tuesday on ESPN

CHICAGO — Clint Bowyer had yet another opportunity to set the record straight on Thursday to address whether or not he spun intentionally at Richmond.
He declined to take it.
Asked by USA TODAY Sports why he would neither admit to a purposeful spin or strongly deny the suspicious caution, Bowyer dodged the question just as he had during three separate interviews with ESPN's SportsCenter on Tuesday.
"I've told you guys: I love you to death, I appreciate all you guys, what you do for our sport, (but) I've given my interviews on national television, over and over and over and over," he said in response to the question of his intentional spin. "And I know you guys all wrote your stories about it. It's time to write a story about the Chase."
Though reporters tried repeatedly to ask Bowyer about Richmond, he kept referring back to his ESPN interviews — during which he said virtually nothing — as his for-the-record statement.
Some examples:
-- "I went to ESPN on Tuesday and talked about all this and gave interviews I think for like seven hours on national television. The one thing I can tell you is I'm tired of talking about it."
-- "I've had a rough few days. Probably rougher than I've ever had. But I spoke my piece. I did national interviews all day long. I could have just as easily ducked away from them and not gave an interview. I went up there and did my interviews and for me, personally, I've got that behind me."
-- "Let me start all this over again one more time. I went to ESPN and gave countless interviews for seven hours. I gave the interview and I'm done with it."
Toward the end of his 12-minute interview session with reporters — with the questions not letting up — Bowyer leaned in with a more serious tone.
"Hey, listen: I love this sport, I love you guys," he said. "It's been a tough couple days, but I appreciate everybody's hard work. We gotta move on. I know it's a tough situation for all of us, but in all seriousness, I love this sport, I'm proud to be a part of the Chase and I think it's going to be a good one."
Then, with so many questions still unanswered, Bowyer walked away.
