Helton repaid the team by hitting a solo home run in the second inning.
Tonight was Todd Helton’s last home game at Coors Field, a big moment at the end of an incredible 17-year career.
Before the game, the Rockies gave Helton a gift to thank him for his years of service. The gift was a horse. Like, an actual horse. A living, breathing horse.
Helton thanked the club back for the gift when he blasted a solo home run in the second inning and received a standing ovation from the Rockies crowd…and even some love from the visiting Red Sox.
